Let's Clear the Air

I still need to write my blog about why I would dump my wife and marry twitter if It was a real person.  In the mean time I feel the need this evening to talk about … well to talk about me.

I hope all of my twitter followers and Facebook friends are reading this right now. Anyone who knows me should read this to grasp who I am as a person. I hope I don’t lose any of you from it either, just being honest. If I do though, then it obviously wasn’t going to work in the long run anyways.

I’m not like most people. I’m an anomaly to say the least.  A long time ago I decided it would be better for not only me but everyone I came across to research things before I open my mouth about them. Also it seemed wise to only form an opinion after taking both sides into consideration. As I get ready to turn 30 in the next year, I can’t help but think to myself… why am I the only person who does this? Also, why am I the only person who chooses to respect other people choices, even if they don’t align with my own?

So I’ve decided to just clear the air on who I am and where I stand. Below is the only time I will ever state where I stand on controversial issues. So bookmark it, keep it in a safe place and tell your grand kids grandkids that “I remember when he said this….” Or just flame me for it.  I will NOT reply to flames. This will also be the only time politics or religion will make an appearance in anything I blog about.

Politics – I hate to say I’m in any one party but my core beliefs lean towards Republican.  I voted for Bush… twice. I also voted for Obama because I thought he would make the better President over McCain. I still feel that way. Will I vote for him again? EH that’s tough… unfortunately I don’t like any candidates on either side (even if the Dem’s replaced Obama as theirs)

Religion – I believe there is a God. I have my reasons for that. Those reasons are known to me alone. If you ever make me feel you won’t judge and be harsh or placate or disrespect me, I would gladly give you more insight. But that more than likely would never happen. No offense.

Abortion – I think it’s stupid. I thought this even before being a parent. Your making the choice as to if someone else lives or dies. Not your choice to make.  Now that I’ve said that.. There are places where I can ALMOST justify it.. mainly in the case of rape but also in terms of endangerment of life. Either for yourself or the baby or both.  (Even then I think you should let nature take it’s course)

Homosexuality – I’ve never publicly stated my stance on this. This will be controversial I’m sure.. but get the hell over it. I don’t believe there is such a thing as being “born gay”. Spending your whole life only being with the same sex is a choice (my opinion). Having said that though, I don’t think people should be persecuted just for loving someone of the same sex.  We are all human’s and are all susceptible to love.  Just because a woman falls in love with a woman or a man falls in love with a man, doesn’t mean they are only meant to love that one sex.  When someone finds the one they love, there are no boundaries. Race, sex, creed are all thrown out the window.  Just because a man finds other men more attractive, dosnt mean he’s only attracted to ther men, just that they havnt found a woman that meets the right criteria. That dosnt mean he’s MEANT to be with a woman. Just means there hasn’t been one. I personally find women attractive, and am lucky enough to have found the love of my life.  If I choose to stay single, I’m sure that some day (and as long as I kept my mind open) I would have fallen in love with a man had he been the right one.  Our minds don’t choose who we love, our hearts do.

Racism – It’s stupid people. Get the hell over it. But on the flip side.. Don’t use it as a crutch. Just because you’re in the minority doesn’t give you the right to play “poor pitiful me”. Suck it up, and show everyone they are wrong.

The Words Gay or Fag – Has never in the history of the words meant HOMOSEXUAL. I use the words a lot… has NOTHING to do with them. If you don’t like being called happy or a French cigarette… well then I’m sorry. If anything the world homo and homosexual should be more offensive.

Death Penalty – Eye for an Eye… I’m for it.  The only part of the entire justice system in my opinion that works and makes people pay for the crimes they commit. No, killing someone who killed someone does not bring back the lost loved ones. Neither does giving them free room and bored with access to drugs and all sorts of shit they should loose the right to for being a fucking idiot.

Music – Music is awesome.. ALL music. Just because someone dosnt like something you do or vice versa, dosnt make it stupid, it’s just not something you or they understand.

“Im this way because of how I was raised” – I call bullshit. That only goes as far as you no longer being in the environment that was causing the issues. Once you’re an adult, you own up and take responsibility. Everyone can change … EVERYONE! Weakness is all in the mind. Everyone has the strength and ability and the courage to change what’s wrong in their life, it’s up to them to use it. “You’re never given a dream, without also being given the power to make it come true.”

So…. Do any of you agree with me on this stuff? More than likely not… does that make me a horrible person that should be persecuted, just because I don’t share in your beliefs and opinions? I don’t think so. Unfortunately society deems anything not status quo to be wrong and should be eradicated. If that’s the case with me.. do it and get it done. I have a life to live and I don’t want you interfering with it.
